Our Donors

We are grateful to our donors whose generosity makes our community programmes possible.

Canary Organisation

Canary Organisation

Our leading donor for 2026 is from the Canary Organisation. They have been generous in their support for contributions toward the BJJ club, Kids Learn to Skate, Learn to Dance group, Agroforestry Nursery, Nature Play, and Breastfeeding Support groups. The Canary organisation itself also supports community directly, operating to ensure that mobility parking spaces are responsibly used by those who truly need them. Their innovative ANPR-based camera system was developed specifically for mobility parking abuse enforcement and monitors these spaces. It is a portion of the proceeds from the breach payments that benefits the Grubby Hands Charitable Trust, as well as other charities directly supporting the disabled, such as St John and Starship Hospitals.

Strom Sports New Zealand

Strom Sports New Zealand

Strom Sports has committed 1% of all retail sales earned to be contributed as monthly donations to the Grubby Hands Charitable Trust. This is allocated for the advance of sporting activities in the Ruapehu region for under-resourced groups. Donations to date have been allocated to the BJJ Club and Kids Learn to Skate equipment and activities. Strom Sports has also provided ongoing use of warehouse space, BJJ mats and other fitness equipment at 1 Valley Road, Raetihi to the BJJ Club and Learn to Dance activities, currently operating three events weekly.

Tim & Emma King

The King's family has kindly provided ongoing use of a dedicated section of land for the Agroforestry Nursery, various seedling and cuttings inputs from their own system, as well as hosting hands on educational sessions which work to develop the Agroforestry Nursery further.

Community Donors

We have donations from a number of generous community members, these are either allocated to the general pool for distribution according to needs, or directly to each initiative that the donor requested.
